Heavy Metal Detoxification Procedure
There are many different natural stradegies for detoxification. This includes varous protocols for metal detoxification. The purpose of this page is the explain the difference between seeing such as Dr. Marcus, or simply doing a general detoxification protocol.
Criteria needed for detoxification
- It must be practical for the client to follow. There may be methods available that work, but simply do not fit into the lifestyles of people who are very busy and sick. For example coffee enema's and repeated visits to sauna will both aid in detoxification. The reality is that when people are struggling to just find enough time in the day to get by as it is, these methods are not going to happen for everyone.
- It must be adjustable in terms of client sensitivity. Some people are very reactive. Give them just a small dose of of an herb for detox and their bodies can produce various detoxification responses ranging from excessive itching to panic attacks. Other people are non reactive. Supplments don't seem to do anything for them. They also may tend to have less symptoms, but symptoms may severe when they finally do prsent. Detoxification must be adjusted to both the very sensitive client and the person whose body just holds onto toxins without any reaction.
- It must be adjustable in terms of specific types of toxins. We are exposed to many different substances such as metals, pesticides, plastics and other other environmental toxins. Just working on general detoxification may not be specific for individual needs.
- If possible, means to verify the need and results of detoxification should be used.
The problem with many supplement detox programs
There are many companies (including those who sell directly to practitioners) who utilize very large supplement plans for detoxification. Often these include the use of protein powders with common detox supplements such as NAC and other amino acides, lipoic acid, milk thistle, tumeric and some other common herbs for the liver.
These general detoxification plans can help people. However, they may not be suited for those who are very sensitive. Also, some people may have toxicity issues that these supplements are not directly addressing. From the perspective of homotoxicology (see link) toxins which the body can not excrete will go into storage. So simply aiding the liver and kidneys in dealing with current burden of toxicity is no guarntee that toxins will be liberated from storage deeper in the body.
My point is not to criticize general detoxification plans are are designed for everyone to follow as wrong. It's just not something which is always going to be specific enough for everyone.
Detoxification which is specific for botht he individual and toxic exposure
Assement of exposed toxins
This is based on specific symptoms, history of known exposures, lab tests and kinesiology tests against toxins.
